If anyone asked me where I thought a dust refinery might be hidden in Midas City, I would not have guessed a place like McLeary’s Herbal Refinery. To be fair, I’d also been thinking much like everyone else that the dust they were selling on the streets was just her… shedding… being sold pure. Chelsea said some things on the way home that made me think they’re doing a bit more. They aren’t cutting it with anything dangerous, but work is definitely being done to make it stronger.

Whatever it is they’re doing didn’t make it feel strong enough. Dust was plenty potent without any outside help before. Besides packaging it up, what more would anyone want from dust? It’s… pretty good at what it does. Maybe it’s not the strongest thing in my belt, but it’s not weak, it’s just… subtler?

Sylvia gets left behind a few blocks away in a nice narrow alleyway. I had to walk her inside after shutting her down, but that probably makes it a better hiding spot. No matter how much I need to confront Dust, I’m still feeling sane enough to realize that charging in the front door isn’t going to do me much good. She’d probably just scatter, and while it’d be a great thing to help out any other women she might have recruited in the Chronos sense, if I don’t stop her then today is just going to happen all over again.

With how my luck is going, I’m pretty sure I’m going to come back and Sylvia won’t be here, but… that’ll just be too fucking bad. I’m impatient enough to ride here on the back of my motorcycle, but not impatient enough to drive her through the front door. It is still incredibly tempting… but no.

Besides, even approaching the front door is a no-no. Chelsea didn’t just share with me the bare minimum information, and I’m very grateful for that. She made sure to mention that the only way to enter and not set off an alarm, is in a door on the side. The last thing I need anyone inside to know is that someone who doesn’t belong is prowling around.

The doorway is in a dark alley, which feels entirely too appropriate as the “back” entrance for a drug den. I guess Dust doesn’t feel the need to break out of the mold.

A woman is always standing watch outside, and I’m sure that’s seemed like enough so far. Considering the sort of loyalty Dust inspires in her girls, I doubt she’d accept the password from me even if I shoved all of the dust I have right down her ear. Plus, Dust did tell them about the silver skinned woman snooping around her business.

I’m expected, but I don’t need to make things harder on myself. Dust might not work, but I may have another trick up my lack of sleeves.

As soon as I turn down the alleyway, my eyes meet with the woman standing guard. It’d be better if she didn’t see me quite so fast, but then I guess I could wear heels that don’t click so much.
